But if you just kick up some gunk from the corners, you’ll remove high nitrate water AND remove some debris that’s contributing to that nitrate and ammonia, and it takes like 2 more seconds. This is quite a common misconception, there are plenty of ways nitrate can leave a water system, even if you’re a crazy water changer you could have near zero nitrates, looking at nitrates is not a good way to tell whether your tank is cycled or not, really just look at your ammonia and your nitrite, they are much better gauges to tell if you have a balanced system. #fish #water #chemistry #aquarium | Luke’s Goldies
