This Hopi pot is so interesting and it tells a great story. The artist is Jeanette Sahu and this pot was made in 1974. What’s so interesting is, even though it’s an award winner and an immaculate piece, it’s unsigned. This speaks to the attitude towards the art that the artist had before, during, and after it was created. Most older pots can be dated by the lack of a signature, but Sahu made pieces like these much later than the aforementioned unsigned pieces would have been produced. Regardless
