Good teaching is one of the most effective tools for managing behavior in the classroom. While a teacher may establish clear routines, explicitly teach behavior expectations, implement a robust reinforcement system, and utilize other behavior strategies to ensure students remain seated and prepared to learn— all of those techniques may not be enough to promote learning and maintain appropriate behavior if the instruction lacks engagement and effectiveness.
