Mark Kelly of Arizona said on Sunday, Oct. 19 that lawmakers could reopen the government this week if the Republicans are willing to discuss health care subsidies now.

The poll also found that Americans overwhelmingly disapproved of Trump, Republicans and Democrats when it came to the handling of the shutdown.

The government shutdown is poised to become the longest ever this week as the impasse between Democrats and Republicans has dragged into a new month. Millions of
