Not a big reader? Google Translate rolls out real-time audio translation for headphone users
Google says you’ll be able to get live audio translations of conversations, speeches, and lectures in a different language, listen to a speech or lecture while abroad, or watch a TV show or film in another language through your headphones.
Google Translate support for Android app shortcuts will make it easier to get right to your next Practice mode session.
The latest update to its text translation feature is rolling out first in the US and India, translating between English and just under 20 other languages, including German, Spanish, Chinese and Arabic. It works in the Translate app for iOS and Android and on the web.
Following the iOS app in March, Google Translate for Android now has a homescreen widget that follows the latest Material You design language. Update 5/1: In announcing on Thursday, Google only showed off one Translate widget when there are actually two.
Google Translate has come a long way since its inception. On top of extensive translation tools to make your overseas travels that much smoother, the Translate app added a 'Practice' feature this year to help users learn new languages.
