Lowell Township tabling data center rezoning request
Lowell Township says it is tabling a rezoning application for a data center project by request of the developer.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is planning a data center in Covington, just outside of Atlanta, Georgia. Details about the data center project remain sparse, but Covington News and WSB-TV report that the company has made a $100 million agreement with the city to construct a water treatment and cooling facility to support the data center.
A proposed data center on Ogletown Road right outside of city limits was entered into the county's land use application process. It would be behind the existing IFF chemical plant that welcomes people into Newark, less than a mile from the start of Main Street.
