Tens of thousands of people have been evacuated across the Visayas islands, as the storm, locally named Tino, made landfall early on Tuesday.

The state weather bureau PAGASA is monitoring a potential super typhoon that will likely enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility later this week.

At least three people have been killed and hundreds of thousands have been forced to flee their homes as a typhoon ripped through the central Philippines, the country's disaster agency said. Typhoon Kalmaegi has flooded large areas, including entire towns on the island of Cebu.
